How can you get smoother skin and also close opened pores on your face?
I want to know what i can do or use to get smoother skin. Also i need to know how to close or lessen opened pores on my face cause they seem to be less visible when my face is wet for some reason.|||to close your pores
mix corn flour + rose water and apply mask for 30 min daily until the pores closed
and to have a smooth skin try this recipe : Mix the sugar and oil together in a bowl. I haven%26#039;t included measurements because the amount you%26#039;ll need is different for every body. Take the bowl up to the bathroom. take the dry shower pouf or loofah and move it over your body in a circular motion. If you%26#039;re using a loofah, you might want to wet it first, but it%26#039;s not really necessary if you%26#039;re gentle.
Your skin will probably feel kinda tingly by now. Get in the shower and gently massage the homemade scrub all over before you turn on the water. Rinse the scrub off and wet the shower pouf. Fill it with lots of moisturizing body wash and wash , Rinse off the soap , Get out of the shower and towel off ,Use lots of lotion. Your skin will be pretty soft now|||I find that using a good astringent like avons clearskin after washing closes my pores. Does ending your shower with cold water really close pores and decrease the chances of break outs?
What is the logic behind this? I would assume your pores would just open back up once you stepped out of the shower and into a warmer enviorment, thus allow bacteria/oil to seep back in...|||well you wash your face in a steaming shower to open up your pores and allow the substance to clean your skin, and then rinsing your face with cold water does work, it closes your pores, natural warm environment doesn%26#039;t exactly open your pores, not hot enough.|||when your skin comes in contact with hot water or steam pores open up allowing u to clean out your pores and the cold water closes them up allowing the pores to not get more bacteria in them.|||yeah your right... hmmm really you dont need to do the cold water thing unless you open the door or window to let the hot air out so that way your skin can close

Care
Keep your skin free of excess oils. That does not mean that you strip away the acid mantle totally. Just keep the oil manageable so that it does not look shiny. Use cleansers that are mild and preferably enriched with AHAs to keep the acid mantle undisturbed. Use exfoliation agents such as topical retinoids to remove the excess dead skin cells that accumulate around the pore. Treat blackheads, because they draw attention to the pores. Skin protection from sun can reduce the enlargement of pores.
Whiteheads %26amp; Blackheads
Whiteheads and blackheads are the first stage of acne. Acne develops on hair follicles which have sebaceous glands attached to them. These sebaceous glands produce an oil called sebum. Due to some reasons, the sebum changes in quantity and quality resulting in scales on the hair follicle. These scales block the skin pores causing acne. This blockage of the skin pores is the beginning of acne.
The first stage of this blockage shows up as blackheads and whiteheads. These are also called as comedones. A comedone is a sebaceous follicle that is plugged and filled with sebum, dead cells, etc. An open comedone is called a blackhead because of its blackish appearance. A blocked comedone is called as a whitehead. It is a small bump in the skin with skin like color. A whitehead has a closed mouth and the blackhead has an open mouth. The black color of blackheads is not due to dirt as some believe, but it is the oxidized sebum.
Treatment And Care:
Don%26#039;t squeeze whiteheads And blackheads yourself. That may leave permanent scars on the skin and also cause infection. The best approach is to go to a dermatologist, who will pick them open, if required under sterile conditions. Note that Acne scars can be permanent. Wash your face gently with lukewarm water and mild soap to remove excess sebum and dead skin. Do this twice a day. Don%26#039;t be harsh on the skin. Acne takes time to clear. Apply any topical cream that may be prescribed by your dermatologist. Acne treatment requires patience. Some of us think that washing affected area many times a day may clear acne fast. That may rather further inflame the acne. Be gentle and patient.

What's the difference between foundation and concealer? Which one is better to hide large pores?
I have large pores around my nose and on my nose. My skin is slightly oily and I don%26#039;t have much acne. Sometimes they just appear, but it%26#039;s not something that I don%26#039;t worry about a lot. Good luck!|||here%26#039;s a simple trick. rub ice cube on the face. it will shrink the pores.|||use this natural products: www.omnilife.com|||There is no cure for enlarged pores. Everyone%26#039;s pores get larger as they age, and some people are prone to them all the time thanks to genetics. Your best bet is to keep your skin really clean. If you have oily skin, use a deep cleaning gel or scrub. There are many on the drugstore shelves and they don%26#039;t cost a mint. Almay is great for sensative skin. Also, try a toning mask once a week.
Don%26#039;t clog your pores with liquid make up. Try a translucent (see-through) pressed powder for oily skin, and press it firmly into your skin with the puff. Don%26#039;t rub; that just makes matters worse. Choose a shade just a bit lighter than your skin tone.
Never pinch or squeeze a pimple, makes big pores worse.
Also, play up your eyes or lips, whichever feature is best on you, with brighter colors. If you have great lips, wear a bright lipstick. If your eyes are pretty, wear a good color of shadow and plenty of mascara. That will draw people%26#039;s eyes away from your pores.
Finally, don%26#039;t obsess about it. Most people probably don%26#039;t notice your pores as much as you think, and everyone has something about their skin or features that they think is hideous, even if it%26#039;s not.

How do I get rid of bumps and clogged pores on my forehead?
My forehead is very prone to breakouts. Everyday I cleanse, exfoliate, and use an antibacterial acne medication. In addition to this I wear mineral makeup. Because of my skincare regimen I get much less pimples and my skin everywhere else looks fabulous.... BUT still under close inspection my forehead is dotted with tiny bumps and clogged pores. Its really bugging me..... I just want smooth, flat skin there. Any advice?|||If you are really concerned about your skin, perhaps use as little makeup as possible, or no makeup at all (always good to go natural, yeah? Not as bad as it sounds!). Carrots are extremely good for your skin, keep it smooth and soft, so take a lot of those, and don%26#039;t stay out too long under the sun. Never use rough cloths on your face and regulate your sleep cycles - believe it or not, along with stress, they can alter your complexion greatly. I tend to get tons of pimples on my forehead when undergoing stress.|||Try St. Ives facial scrub and facial mask. Or if you have a sensitive skin, use warm milk as facial mask. It helps to soften your skin without getting irritated. Also, avoid using make-ups as much as possible..a baby face powder and lip gloss will do..|||okay....this might sound ridiculus but it really helps. Get toothpaste and put it on before bed on the spots you need to put it on. rub it and sleep until the next morning, wash it off. Repeat until the bumps get smaller and smaller.

How to make a facial mask that will shrink pores?

I just discovered them the other day and found lots of tips!|||Nothing will actually shrink pores forever regardless of what they say on the package. A quick home made mask for oily or black headed skin is the aspirin mask. Get 5 tables of aspirin (not tylenol or advil) and put them in the palm of your hand, add a bit of warm water and the pills will melt, add a bit of moisturizer to the melted pills and spread on your skin for 3-5 minutes and rinse. Aspirin contains salicylates, which is like salicylic acid found in acne medication. Best way to exfoliate for frownlines blackheads and open pores?

What is a way to get rid of black pores on face?
I have lots of black pores on my face, especially on my nose, what is a good way to get rid of them?|||Wash your face well with a cleanser meant to clear pores. Dry it, and apply a thin layer of plain white school glue. Allow it to dry, then peel it off, the black heads should come out with the glue.
This is a cheap alternative to expensive blackhead strips you get at the drug store.
Then cleanse face at least twice daily with a product made for blackheads. You can use a washcloth wet with hot water to hold over your face and steam pores open a bit to make these products work better.
After cleanings apply a salycylic acid cream, or a benzoyal peroxide cream over affected ares.

How can I reduce the size of pores?
I have some noticeable pores on my nose, and they%26#039;re larger than I%26#039;d like, is there any way to make them reduce in size? I%26#039;ve tried ponds nose strips, washing my face every day with different facial scrubs (the ones with the beads), nothing seems to work?|||Step 1
Wash your face every night using an appropriate cleanser for your skin type. People with oily skin should look for products meant for oily skin and people with combination skin should look for those products. Using the wrong products can make your pores look even larger.
Step 2
Apply oil-free moisturizer before going to sleep at night and after waking up in the morning. The moisturizer hydrates the skin and helps reduce the size of the pores. Products that contain oil can actually enlarge the pores by clogging them.
Step 3
Take an over-the-counter vitamin containing vitamin C or retinol. Some experts believe that retinol and vitamin C can actually diminish the size of pores when taken properly. Eating foods rich in vitamin C can also help.
Step 4
Exfoliate at home or head to the spa for a microdermabrasion treatment. These treatments go beyond simple cleansing to completely strip the oils and debris caught in the pores. After only one treatment, your pores will reduce in size.
Step 5
Try a steam bath or hold your face over a pot of boiling water. Alternatively, you can run the shower or bath in your bathroom and sit inside the steaming room for a few minutes. The steam forces out any dirt or debris trapped in the pores and makes the pores look smaller.

What is the best make-up to cover fine lines and small-medium pores?
I have some line lies on my chin area but I have small - medium sized pores all over my face. What is the best makeup that will cover these, BUT not make me look like I have makeup caked on. I use Bare Minerals right now, it doesn%26#039;t give me that smooth looking skin. I think a primer would help, that fills in the pores right??
What do I use and where do I get it???|||I am a BE user buty have the pore issue as well. There are 2 things that I added to make a difference. 1. Then top it off with a mineral powder foundation.
Cosmetics are individual but I love Arbonne products they last all day, a little goes a L O N G way (bang for the buck)

I have large pores along my nose and upper cheeks, and I find that the whipped texture of this foundation works best to cover them. Liquid foundations settle into them, while powders just seem to miss them altogether. I tried Bare Minerals recently and found that it actually highlighted my pores!
The only problem with the mousse is that you have to use it up fairly fast. After 3-4 months the stuff starts drying out a little in the container - it loses its nice whipped texture and starts feeling more spongy, and doesn鈥檛 glide on as nicely. At least it鈥檚 fairly inexpensive (compared to specialty or department store brands, anyway), so even if you have to throw some away every few months, it鈥檚 not so bad.|||I have the same problem so I use Stila Oil Free Foundation and apply it with a makeup brush. If you have a local Sephora go there and they can let you try it on. It%26#039;s wonderful because it gives a lot of coverage without looking caked on. Spackle is a good product for filling in places that need it. As for Bare Minerals as much as I love those products they are more for people WITHOUT problem areas on their face. What's the best way to wash your face in order to cleanse out all the dirty stuff in the pores??

I%26#039;ve been using them for about 4 years now, and still like them a lot. You just wet them with warm water, lather them up, and wash your face with them. Then rinse the cloth, and use the wet cloth to wipe off the suds from your face. Then rinse with warm water.
You apply moisturizer (with spf) after you cleanse in the morning, and apply a different nighttime moisturizer after cleansing again at night.
My other suggestion would be to get facials regularly. I don%26#039;t, but my friend who does, her skin is always radiant.
Oh, and the Biore pore strips really do work. They pull all the yucky stuff out of your pores. Just don%26#039;t leave them on until they%26#039;re rock hard, then they%26#039;re painful to remove.|||The best way is to use a facial srub such as clean and clear or clearasil, work it inro a lather with warm water - too cold and ut wont strip the dirt and oil from your face, too hot and itll take too much oil from your face and youl be left feeling dry and tight.

Don%26#039;t mind all the fancy pancy toners just use water|||The most common practice that is followed when you have acne problems is to wash your face regularly. However it should be known that it is important to adopt gentle cleansing habits to prevent irritation to the skin.
When choosing a facial cleanser, choose something that has the terms ‘oil-free’, ‘non-irritating’, ‘non-overdrying’ and ‘non-comedogenic’ mentioned on them. most of the acne cleansers today have other medications in them like salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide.
These medications may get washed off with these cleansers or you may end up layering medications by starting with a cleanser with medication and following with another medication afterwards. The best option is to have gentle cleansing to be followed with the right medication.
Make it a point to wash your hair only twice a day; in the morning and evening. This is because too much of washing only causes irritation to the skin. Remember, you are aiming at becoming as kind as possible to your skin with your cleansing.
Don’t wash your face using a washcloth as your bare hands are more than sufficient. Remember that the washing of your face is only for getting your face ready for medication, and for nothing else.
There is no point in scrubbing your face as washing your face on its own does not clear breakouts as dirt does not cause acne. After washing your face, pat it dry as rubbing it leads to excess irritation. This in turn creates more breakouts.|||The best way to clean your face is keep washing your face regularly.
Washing at regular intervals is effective. I had acne problems till a few months back. i kept on washing my face regularly and didnt use any cleansers.
Try the same, it will surely work. Now my face is very clear and i dont get pimples at all.

Is it possible to make enlarged pores to disappear gradually?
Well I have pores on my face due to genetically sensitive skin which causes breakouts.
And now since the acne is getting better, but still get them, I want to treat my pores, make them less obvious, you know?
Is there anything I can do?

|||.You can quickly reduce them by quite vigorous massage using an essential oil(See USER%26#039;S happy response below) You will find you can make it more vigorous as you progress. You first flex or tighten skin by tightening face muscles so that you will not be pulling or stressing skin. Use finger tips and front and sides of fingers depending where on face you massage. A circular motion will not work. Do over and over firmly. Skin is always shedding and renewing, the massaging friction hastens a new skin to emerge with pores very much reduced. Initially, skin has to adjust and if you get any soreness - stop and resume when you can. For quickest results do each day for up to 30 min.(Doesn%26#039;t have to be all in one session). You will see results in 2 to 3 days and they will diminish day by day. If you apply massage to entire face you will quickly have a radiant, tight, firm, totally blemish free, healthy skin and you will not need to use any other product or treatment ever again - not even moisturizers. Oils are perfect natural moisturizers.

what you%26#039;ll need:
1 pack of knoxx gelatin
onion skin paper (use the really thin kind for best results)
hot water
mix the gelatin in a few spoons of hot water until you get a paste like consistency like honey . dont get it to thick or too runny. you can reheat it if it starts to thicken. just put heater or a bowl of hot water under it.
then spread a thin layer unto the os paper and apply it to your face like a mask. or you can just cut out a portion of the paper to fit the areas you want to cover.
wait a few minutes to let it dry, and gently peel the mask starting at the bottom edges in an upward motion. and there you have it clean and unclogged pores!
(look closely at the peeled paper and you can see those icky whiteheads all over it like tiny spikes! LOL
make sure to wash your face thoroughly and cover it with a cold towel to close your pores. you can also apply some toner or cucumber juice to help tighten your pores.
there, i hope that helped!|||you can take the longest hot shower you want, the trick is to splash COLD water on you face right after. also when your washing your face in the morning or at nite, wash it with warm water and then rinse it with cold, this shocks your pores which makes them smaller.|||I use Neutrogina Pore Refining face wash and toner and my pores look GREAT. What is the best way to clean your pores/make them smaller? & How to get rid of blackheads?
How do you clean/minimize your pores? Or what is the best way...
And what do you use to get rid of your blackheads? (:|||Massaging with essential oils works wonders. Can quickly reduce pores, get rid of all blackheads, and most blemishes. Certain oils are beneficial in treating acne prone and sensitive skins and lessen skin%26#039;s production of oil. Olive, almond, and cypress are excellent. To get fastest results do it quite vigorously. You will see them diminish in just one day. Oils feed and nourish skin with many beneficial health enhancing nutrients and will give you a revitalized healthy and glowing skin.
It%26#039;s best to massage with a forward and back motion. Circular massage is less effective.
SOURCE(S): 20 + years research, experimentation - safe natural treatments/cures for skin conditions and skin enhancement.|||There are some ways for blackhead removal:
* Use a facial steamer to steam your face for a few minutes. This helps you to open up facial pores, and expose the blackheads. Pat your face dry. Then, use a blackhead remover to remove blackheads. Place the hole of the remover over a blackhead, and gently press down. This will apply the pressure from underneath the blackhead, and pop it up. Then use an alcohol pad to clean it up to avoid infection. Avoid harsh squeezing or scraping at the blackhead. Excessive squeezing can damage the skin surround the pore and can actually increase the size of the pore, leading to more blackheads in the future.
* You can also use a pore strip. The adhesive action of pore strips can actually rip blackheads out of your face. Since most strips are medicated, this will ensure you don鈥檛 get an infection from the rather rough extraction. Use a facial steamer to steam your face first, and pat it dry. Then, just apply the strip to the blemished area, wait the prescribed amount of time instructed by the user manual, and rip the strip off, taking the blackhead with it.|||Hmmm

How do you refine or get rid of pores?
I cleanse, tone and moisterise my face everyday and I don%26#039;t ever wear make-up, So it really bugs me that I have so much pores. What can I use to refine or get rid of them?|||Pores can get big with a build up of dead skin cells and skin oil.
Once a week add exfoliation to your routine, the easiest is to mix 1 tbsp sugar with a few drops of milk and scrub lightly onto your clean skin, rinse well and then apply a clay mask all over your face. I like St. Ives mineral clay mask. You can actually see the oil being absorbed from your pores. Then rinse again. Finally if there is a certain area of your face that has larger pores than others, like your nose. Apply more clay mask just to that area. I do this and have seen a big improvement with my pores and general skin tone. It works better than those expensive pore refining products.
Also, if you have nice skin and don%26#039;t really need a thick foundation try getting a tinted moisturizer for day wear, just a little bit of color will make your pores harder to see and smooth out your skin tone.|||Haha, hun, you can%26#039;t get RID of pores. You can minimize their appearance.
Make sure you don%26#039;t over-wash, that%26#039;s #1, increases oil production and their appearance I%26#039;m sure.
You can wash your face with cold water, this should close them up at least a bit. The key is cold. Don%26#039;t over do it though, you can dry your face out.
If your pores are bumpy, you need to exfoliate, use apricot scrub or once in a while, mix a paste of baking soda and water and apply it to your face for a quick blackhead dissolve. If you wanna scrub your face with the paste, BE VERY CAREFUL. You will take the top layer of your skin right off, that stuff is very abrasive, you have to be VERY gentle.|||More than likely if you have large pores then you have oily skin...You can%26#039;t get rid of pores, oh how I wish also, but it%26#039;s just not gonna happen but you can minimize them...After cleansing rinse with cool water..you do %26quot;not%26quot; want the water too cold because it can cause broken capillaries same as too hot of water.....

I find that using a good cleanser and a gritty scrub such as apricot scrub works. I also make sure and use a facial lotion and occasionally steam my pores. After I open up my pores, I like to make a sugar scrub to clean my skin.

What do you do to shrink large facial pores?

It is equally effective to other skin treatments and, most importantly, it allows you to get back to your daily routine immediately after treatment
By removing a very fine skin layer, micro derm abrasion stimulates collagen production, thus encouraging cellular renewal. Old skin is replaced by new healthy skin cells - this is known to help acne, enlarged pores and blackheads, age spots and sun-damaged skin and uneven skin tone (hyperpigmentation).
Microdermabration removes excess oil, debris and dead cells - This also helps minimize large pores and get rid of pimples and age spots.

Does anyone know a good way to shrink pores on the nose and get rid of blackheads?
I%26#039;ve used so many products from drug stores but nothing seems to help. Any advice on treatments/products would be appreciated.|||I know this sounds nuts but try it. What are natural/organic ways to make the pores on my face smaller?

Safely and permanently reduces pores by massaging using an essential oil - olive, almond and grape seed are excellent and suitable for sensitive skins. Almond and grape seed have been used by skin specialists to treat and cure acne. Do not cause breakouts and lessen skin%26#039;s production of oils.
See happy response below from Answer%26#039;s user. Use tips and front and sides of fingers depending where on face you massage. A circular motion will not work. Do over and over firmly. For quickest results do vigorously each day for 15 to 30 min.(Doesn%26#039;t have to be all in one session). It%26#039;s best to first tighten skin by opening mouth 3/4%26quot; and pulling lips firmly back against teeth. Pores will greatly minimize in as little as 2 days. Skin is always shedding and renewing. Massage forces skin to shed more quickly and a new clearer skin to emerge. Thoroughly massage entire face you will quickly have a smooth, radiant, tight, totally blemish free skin and you will not need to use any other product or treatment ever again - not even moisturizers. How can i minimize the appearance of my pores?
Help! My pores constantly appear to be enlarged. I rinse my face with cold water after ever time i wash it, however, minutes later, my pores are enlarged an open again.
How can i %26#039;shrink%26#039; my pores, and keep them that way?|||Well you should do this:
put your hair in a bun so that it is out of your face and pin any bangs/fringes/short layers around your face away from your face. then take a large bowl and fill it with hot, hot, water so that steam is coming off the top. put your face close to it and put a towel over your head (wash cloth towel) so that the steam doesnt escape. yes i know this enlargens your pores.
wash your face immediately after with warm water after this using a facial scrub to take out any bacteria. i recommend anything from clearasil, neutrogena and proactiv dont really work right away.
you could also buy clearasil%26#039;s blackhead eraser, i think it costs around 17 dollars but removes any blackheads that could be making your pores look huge.
next, put on a facial mask (this time, however, i do recommend neutrogena. there is a daily mask/weekly mask combo that you can buy from ralph%26#039;s or target that costs 11 dollars i think). let it sit for the directed time for a daily rinse and then go to the bathroom and wash off your face. if your pores are still huge then put a cold wash cloth to your face for about 5 minutes.|||1. Use Facial Scrub Once A Week.
You may either apply homemade or commercial scrub that will remove all dead cells from your skin.
2. Never Leave Make-Up On Your Face While Going To Bed.
When you leave make-up on your face without cleansing it, your skin is not able to breathe properly which in turn cause pores get clogged.
3. Use homemade masks at least twice a week.
It is very important to apply homemade masks every week, regardless of your age (20 or 60 years old).
Here is a recipe of deep pore cleansing mask: mix some Cornstarch, some warm water, some Tea Tree essential oil and 1 teaspoon green tea extract.|||This is what I%26#039;ve heard and do.
Before you wash your face, rinse with warm water to open up your pores.

I think this advice makes sense. It works for me.|||You should try Neutrogena Pore Refining Cleanser and their Toner. Both work magic!

What is a good cleanser for blackheads and pores?
My face is breaking out because i have started to eat alot I need help to find a cleanser for my blackheads and pores and then when they are gone i am going to a dermatologist for my acne.|||Hi!
I actually found a facial oil that slows down your skins oil production, clears up pimples/ acne and dissolves black heads within 4-8 weeks I put all the info on my blog as it%26#039;s quite detailed:
http://beautymoi.blogspot.com
I also put a full article of how to extract blackheads and steam your skin.
Black heads are basically a hardened oil mixture that was secreted from your pores and oxidized (which makes the outside part black) and since water and oil don%26#039;t mix, no water based product can %26quot;clean%26quot; your blackheads away, just try say putting certain foundations or makeups on the mirror and if you wipe it with water it smudges all over but put a little baby oil and wipe and tada! it comes off super clean AND dissolves it. So this is basically how this oil works. It%26#039;s composition is such that the skin accepts it as a healing oil and it does not clog your skin but rather protects it while the plant extracts inside go down into the pores (this absorption is made possible by applying the toner to the skin before applying the oil and then applying the dabs of oil over your moistened face), it then penetrates into the pores.
I put where to the name of the oil and prices in stores versus on eBay as well as how to apply it on my blog:
